General Dentist Seeking Practice Ownership
Hello, my name is Dr. Allie Barbosa and I am starting my journey towards practice ownership. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page to learn more about me and my mission.
Introduction
I graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2014 and completed an AEGD at the VA Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
Since 2015 I have been an associate in a private practice in Raynham, MA. I feel very fortunate to have had such a fantastic associateship with a wonderful mentor for the past ten years. The benefits of being in the same practice for a decade has offered me some invaluable knowledge and experience: continuity of care, successes and failures of treatment, the importance of your team, the joys of having long term relationships with patients, and how a practice can continually change, grow and adapt.
I am proud of the skills I have acquired as a dentist and feel ready to take on the next challenge of practice ownership. There will of course be challenges, so many more I’m sure than I could possibly imagine right now, but I look forward to the personal growth and professional fulfillment that it may bring. I am eager to find a practice on the south shore of Massachusetts where I currently live. A practice which I can help continue its legacy, grow and adapt as the profession changes, and most importantly continue to treat its patients and staff with the respect and care they deserve.
If you have any interest meeting with me to discuss an opportunity please call or email me, it would be my pleasure to be considered.

My Future in Dentistry
So much credit should be given to East Coast Dental Design and its owner Dr. Mary Ann Garcia for her mentorship that aided my dental career development. She is a fantastic dentist, mother, business owner and colleague. Dr. Garcia is a constant learner and has brought me along with her.
Her office has consistently adapted as dentistry and its demands have changed and long time patients are always impressed by the transformation of the practice. Over the past few years we have navigated into digital dentistry, changing from physical impressions to scans when able.
I feel lucky to have learned traditional techniques in school and early practice and to be able to see how a practice can adapt and utilize the growing technology that is infiltrating dentistry to streamline patient care and processes within a practice.
As an associate my average day of dentistry can range from comprehensive treatment planning, recare exams, fillings, same day crowns, surgical extractions, bridges, esthetic veneers, implant crowns and bridges, dentures, overdentures, partials, etc. I typically refer out for endo, bone grafting, implant placement and third molars.
I have started to get involved in Invisalign and am actively taking CE to enhance my knowledge. I am proud of the quality dentistry I have been able to provide to patients but what has always made me stand out as a provider is my empathetic and caring nature. I am an excellent communicator and will truly listen to patients to discover with them what their best course of treatment will be and how to help them accomplish their goals.
I understand the importance of one’s team. Respect, appreciation and communication are essential in creating an environment where staff members want to work and where patients want to be seen. With a supportive and motivated team an office can flourish and a lot of care should be given to maintain a healthy work environment.
Looking to the future I hope to continue to provide quality dentistry in an office that is my own, with my values and philosophies, and experience the highs and lows of owning a business. I am ideally looking on the south shore of Massachusetts within 30 minutes from Sharon.
I see myself in a small practice, in a small town, providing good bread and butter dentistry, growing relationships with staff and patients, and getting involved in the local community. I look forward to being able to provide for my family and be in control of my own schedule so that I can prioritize my family and life.
About Me
I am originally from Reading, MA and attended Boston University where I received a degree in Biology in 2009. I graduated from Tufts in 2014 and moved to Providence for my AEGD at the VA Medical Center.
While in Providence I met my now husband Rodrigo (not a dentist, everyone always asks). In 2015 we moved to Norwood, MA, a happy medium for us as I worked in Raynham and he was between Waltham and Rhode Island. We married in 2017 and then bought a fixer upper in Sharon, MA. In 2019 we welcomed our first child, a daughter Emilia and in 2021 a son Ben.
I had always dreamed of moving back to the north shore but as fate would have it, we’ve created our home and family in Sharon, and we want to continue our story here. When I am not practicing dentistry you will find me with my family.
We take advantage of living in Sharon, we have a very small and (emphasizing) unreliable boat that we use when weather permits to take the kids fishing and cruising, this summer will likely be our first attempt at tubing.
Of course being a MA native I am also a huge Boston sports fan and relish the fact that we live so close to Foxboro. We attend many Revolution games and are looking forward to the world cup. I also enjoy playing volleyball and still try to play whenever I can.
